The brakes are lightly applied to avoid skidding in the rain. The grey of the rain sliding sideways against the car windows, the grey of the bridge, and the bay underneath the road seem rendered from black and white television. The buildings in the distance - many solid greys - appear to be moving and not the cars.   next
