Studio/RCL was commisioned to design this guestroom, sauna, garage and swimming pool behind a large traditional home in Los Angeles. The proposed location is surrounded by mature trees and the design solution was to build a room where guests feel like they are sleeping amongst the branches. The walls of the ground floor garage are made of burnished concrete block, the upper floor bedroom walls are made of alternating strips of glass and steel. The sauna faces the pool and is wrapped in translucent glass.
